Waste is one of the healthcare sector’s biggest sustainability challenges. Every year, large amounts of valuable materials are discarded, even though many of these resources can be reused or recycled. That’s why Radboudumc is working together with Seenons and a network of waste partners to create a smarter and more circular waste management process.

As the ambitions of the Dutch Green Deal on Sustainable Healthcare continue to drive the sector towards more sustainable and circular practices, hospitals are placing increasing focus on reducing waste and keeping valuable resources in use for longer.

The foundation lies in awareness, collaboration, and insight. By actively engaging employees and gaining a better understanding of waste streams, new opportunities emerge to recover valuable materials and keep them in circulation. From procurement and use to collection and processing, every step contributes to reducing environmental impact.
